1/72 Clyde Puffer

Basic Build by Dave Milbourn

The model is best fitted with a micro-servo for steering, such as the HiTech HS55. We also found that the same manufacturer's Feather 4-channel receiver was ideal, although a standard 2-channel receiver is small enough to fit easily inside the hull. We recommend the use of an electronic micro-sized speed controller such as M/Tronik's "M/Sonik4/1 Marine" or ACTion's P68A. Both of these have a Battery Eliminator Circuit which enables you to run both the motor and RC gear from the same battery pack. The motor supplied with the kit does not require any further electrical suppression. This prototype model has a variety of sound effects and a smoke generator fitted. Details of these units can be obtained from ACTion, www.actionkit.co.uk

This page has been reproduced with the kind assistance from Model Slipway. I have bought one of the kits from them and I will be adding my own build to this page. My model will be fitted with the stream and sound generators and working lights.

This is Dave's model with the ACTion kit fitted.
