My other model boats

I am lucky enough to own to excellent scale models which have been built by John Elsy and Dave Milbourn.

This is the biggest model I have in my fleet. This is the seaforth Clansman built by John Elsy.  This was a freebie plan given with model boats in 1981. The boat is constructed with plank on frame and all wooden superstructure. Fitted with twin Johnson 545 motors and working bow thruster. On the rear deck she has a working crane and on top 2 working fire monitors which is great to catch the kids out at the lakeside. To the right here she is on the water at Saltwell Park.

My other pride and joy is a model of the Shamrock but this one was built by Dave Milbourn and is a all wooden hull and styrene superstructure. It is fitted with a 500 water cooled motor and is powered by a NiCad pack. Here on the left she is sitting in her carrying case. With being very light she moves through the water very easy and gets on the plane quick but you have to be very careful when turning as a I have had one hairy moment where I had to make an emergency turn and I thought she was going to turn over, but thankfully she didn't.

This is samurai, a deep vee hull with single prop but fast and very manoeuvrable, powered by NiCad's and fitted with a 500 motor. The boat is very similar to the shamrock

This is one of my new boats. It was built by Dave Milbourn, it is fitted a steerable kort nozzle and working lights, search lights and radar.  This model is going to be used for steering competitions. So watch out at for the results.

Others in the fleet include a Airboat ( in the repair yard, had a high speed collision with a incoming Canadian goose) and a fish boat called Progress.  More Updates on them soon.
